Hey folks! So picking up where I left from this injury. Anxious to work out, but feeling confident that for now I can manage myself through nutrition while I wait to be cleared by spine doc. Proud of myself for this change of mind set...last time my injury led me down a funky path. Not this time! Just have to remind myself that it is temporary and I am being proactive in not making the same mistake twice and ignoring an injury. Best of all.....eating healthy has become second nature again! Anywho...here's the blog
B – Minus the injury...body is feeling great! Feeling more energized, not as fatigued as before and saying "I'm tired" is not happening as frequently as before!
L – I've learned to once again roll with the punches. This injury really had me frustrated, but thanks to Eli...she made me realize that I have control over at least one aspect...my diet...felt empowering :)
O – My Oh wow moment has been the incredible response from my boyfriend. He has helped me since I hurt myself but is also open to eating my healthy foods. And little resistance lol. Plus it's getting easier everyday to turn down bad food. I don't even have cravings for unhealthy stuff woot woot!
G – My goal for next week is to start wherever I am once I'm cleared by the doc. Furthermore, incorporate more weight training since I couldn't this past week.
S – Want to shout out Eli for reminding me about the nutrition piece while I tend to my injury. Also thanks to all who showed love and support during this weird injury time of mine. Couldn't do it without you all!

Started from the bottom now we here haaaayyyy
Not sure I've EVER been this excited to write a post!!! Phenomenal week both at work and with my health. Work was tough as usual, but rolled through the punches and gave it my best. My last client of the week even asked if she could give me a hug because the session was such a success...great start to my weekend! Moreover a lot was on my mind after a convo with a friend. Talking about our childhoods, peers we associated with, and neighborhoods we grew up in...made me take a look back and really appreciate where I am today, She quoted it best, "Dang Jackie...coming where you came from you REALLY started from the bottom and look now". I like to look at them as my humble beginnings.....too much to tell but grateful because it has made me who I am today. But I'm a true believer that the past should stay right were it is...in the past. You learn the lessons and remember the facts, but you don't dwell or rehash....nothing comes from it. You always look starting from today and on....something I've always done but struggled when getting back into fitness. I couldn't help but think, "Wow I used to be so strong" or "I used to be so muscley [is that even a word]" which would then lead to not so great decisions. But this week made me exam a lot about myself in the realm of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. I thought to myself....you know what...you're freakin human and 2014 hit you like a ton of bricks...so what? 2014 is done, gone, and ain't coming back,,,,so what are we doing for 2015 and on? Well...it's not dwelling in the past, not focusing on what I couldn't or can't, and definitely not focusing on what I used to be, What matters is who I am today and on...and today I'm am making moves and making decisions to be happy and healthier. With that I leave you with this quote and B.L.O.G.S
“Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I'll try again tomorrow.”

B - Boy oh boy I'm feeling more energized each day..sleeping is better and waking up is slightly easier (trust me....even slightly is huge for my non morning self lol), Muscles continue to protrude woot woot,
L - I've learned to live and let go...no more beating myself up...no more comparing my today self to my yesterday self....yes I was fit and damn it I will be again.
O - Made it to 5 workouts in one week....I have it in me! And working out is starting to not feel like a chore and I actually catch myself planning around my workout time and as my go to right after work!
G - Reached 2 goals this past week: worked out 5 times in a week and added my own weight training regiment. Next goal is to incorporate a second weight training day.

Le Struggle is Real
A super busy weekend with multiple trips to different parts of VA and MD, family commitments and I started to dare I say it......put me last. Wasn't able to accomplish my 5 day workout week because of time constraints, but no matter..it will happen. And eating clean....did good until Saturday night when I had to eat some food at my boyfriends sister's house...healthiest food options you ask.....wings arrrggghhhhh lol. But nonetheless didn't stray to far. Could've I have done better? Heck yeah...let's just say I got a little too comfortable on Superbowl Sunday AND was at my parents house where clean eating is about 50/50...another arrrgghhhhh. But honestly something is better than nothing and as each week passes I will get better. My score in regards to food - 5 out of 7. Meaning ate pretty dang clean 5 out of 7 days, Onward!
B – Body is coming along, some muscles protruding, and stamina picking up woot woot!
L – Learning to roll with the punches and except that everything can't always be so timely and structured. This past weekend and event that was only suppose to last 3 hours actually lasted 6 hours and I had no choice but to skip my workout because I had a family dinner in McLean to get to. Before I would've flipped my ish but instead figured, as long as I eat clean....it won't negate not being able to work out, but at least I won't feel so guilty or bad.
O – Better able to focus and getting the hang of working out becoming like second nature.
G – Goal for this week is to work out 5 times and dang it...I'm gonna do it!
S – Thank you to Austin for helping me during a brutal workout last Friday....and thank you to everyone else who always has a smile on their face and is ready to take on the WorX
